Mr. Shannon planned a big surprise for his CJ students, there was even a dramatic lead in to these visitors showing up that began with a trip to the Principal’s Office… don’t worry they weren’t in any real trouble. These two specialized in the right side of the law after all! Greg and Sarah both graduated class of ’18 from Criminal Justice at CPAVTS, Greg of West Perry High School and Sarah of Cedar Cliff High School. They generously agreed to do a Q&A with us during their stay. Here is what they’ve been up to…


Describe the company or industry in which you currently work.

“I am in the U. S. Navy.”-Greg

“I am currently working, as a manager with the McDonald’s Franchise.”- Sarah


What is your job title and what do you do?

“AD, an Aviation Machinist Mate.”


Aviation Machinist's Mates are aircraft engine mechanics. They inspect, adjust, test, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines and propellers. ADs also perform routine maintenance, prepare aircraft for flight and assist in handling aircraft on the ground.


What additional education and training did you receive after leaving CPAVTS?

“I worked Security.”

“I went to Penn State for CJ. CPAVTS did help me with background knowledge.”


How was Cumberland Perry different than your regular high school?

“It was more hands-on, I enjoyed every second of every day in school at CPAVTS.”

“It gave me insight into the different jobs in Criminal Justice.”


What is your favorite CPAVTS memory?

“Mr. Shannon’s Hands On Event.”

“The obstacle course Mr. Shannon set up for everyone our senior year.”
