The senior class of Advertising Art and Design students spent a day in NYC exploring art.  They started off their visit at the Metropolitan in NYC.  Students enjoyed the refined art and cultures in this museum.  They spent 3 hours trying to observe all they could in the five floors of the Met.  There was Egyptian pyramid pieces, mummies, and handmade jewelry.  In the Asian wing students enjoyed the temples, statues, armor, and the Buddha statues.  They were astonished by American art, a painting that featured the Washington crossing the Potomac.  Students enjoyed all the Greek statues but didn’t get to witness the Statue Garden as it was too windy in the city that day.

While exploring lunch options in NYC, students enjoyed that the restaurants all had their food ratings on the buildings.  They enjoyed the culture, and art, along with busy traffic, all the dogs, and buildings that NYC has to offer.  They even enjoyed the excitement of driving through Times Square and viewing all the massive signs and large billboards.

The next stop after lunch, was the Museum of Modern Art.  Students loved all the abstract art featured at this museum, like the concrete art garden with water.  There were many interactive displays, such as the Kaleidoscope room.  The Van Gogh artwork was a special feature students were privileged to see.  It is a collection that travels across the world.

The AAD students said “this was a once in a lifetime event they will never forget”.
