Cooperative Education Spotlight- Hunter Grimes
Have you ever had an issue with your hot water heater, toilet, water faucet, or sewer line? If you haven’t, consider yourself lucky! If you have, there is a pretty good chance you called a business like Jones Plumbing, Inc. in Carlisle. Every morning at Jones Plumbing, you will find Hunter Grimes assisting customers with household water issues. Hunter, a senior enrolled in the HVAC program at Cumberland Perry AVTS, is currently taking advantage of the “learn while you earn” program called Cooperative Education. After reporting to work each day, he will go on local service calls in the morning and then report to Big Spring High School in the afternoon. His supervisor, Jason Wetzel, raves about the skill set, professionalism, and level of maturity that Hunter brings to the company. After 2 years of training from CPAVTS, the transition from the classroom to the workforce has been a successful one that benefits both Hunter and Jones Plumbing. Next fall, Hunter will be taking his ambition and knowledge to Shippensburg University where he plans to pursue a degree in Business. It appears as though Hunter has a pretty good grasp on his Career Path!
