FBLA and the Cumberland Valley Habitat for Humanity announce a partnership to provide computers to 31 families in Cumberland County, PA.

Details:  The students at Cumberland Perry AVTS's chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America are conducting a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of the Cumberland Valley (PA).

After meeting with the Executive Director, students learned that none of the 31 homes in the area have a computer, even though most have children. Students decided to conduct a fundraiser for Habitat to purchase these computers for the families.

100% of the money donated to CPAVTS FBLA will go to Habitat for Humanity to purchase computers. All incidental costs are being covered by the clubs other fundraisers (Valentines Day lollipop sales, Joe Corbis Pizza Sales, etc.).  100% of the money donated by local businesses is tax deductable (both CPAVTS FBLA and Habitat are eligible donations).

We have secured a discount from Dell Computers to purchase each of the computers for $350 - this is all inclusive. Families will receive a Dell Mini 10v with a DVD-RW external drive. (approx value $400).  Students from both programs will customize the software (using Open Source and Freeware packages) to make the Netbooks more usable for school and home tasks.
